Friday night is MUSIC NIGHT
Friday Night Is Music Night Live Shows
Leo and the Icons Orchestra have appeared on numerous Friday Night Is Music Night broadcasts, accompanying some of the biggest names in music. Many of these shows were original concepts created and curated by Leo, including:
- The Songs of Stevie Wonder, featuring Beverley Knight
- The Songs of Barry White, featuring Peabo Bryson
- The Songs of Queen, featuring Tom Chaplin
- Celtic Soul, featuring Imelda May
Following a sold-out performance of The Songs of Stevie Wonder at the London Palladium, the show was broadcast as a special edition of Friday Night Is Music Night on BBC Radio 2, marking another milestone in this long-standing collaboration.
Alongside this, The Showtime Group continues to tour Tony Blackburn’s Sounds of the 60s Live, extending the BBC connection from broadcast into live venues across the UK.

The Legacy of Leo Green & Friday Night Is Music Night
The Showtime Group has a long and trusted relationship with the BBC, rooted in the work of our Managing Director, Leo Green, and his many years at BBC Radio 2.
Leo has worked extensively with BBC Radio 2 over many years and has hosted multiple editions of Friday Night Is Music Night, the world’s longest-running live music broadcast.
Alongside this presenting work, Leo Green and the Icons Orchestra (also billed as the Leo Green Orchestra) have featured in Radio 2’s Friday Night Is Music Night live programmes, partnering with major guest artists on orchestral pop and soul shows, including The Songs of Stevie Wonder featuring Beverley Knight.

From Broadcast Excellence to Live Events
The heritage of The Showtime Group is built on work at the very highest level of live music production. Managing the relationship between orchestras, headline artists, broadcast engineers, and live audiences, week after week, created a blueprint for excellence that still defines our approach.
Today, as a specialist live music consultancy and production company, we translate that broadcast-level experience into:
- Concert tours
- One-off headline shows
- Corporate and private events
- Festival and theatre productions
We apply the same standards of musical direction, sound quality, stage management, and artist care that were essential to live national broadcasting.
Whether producing an intimate performance or a large-scale orchestral show, our work is shaped by decades of experience at the very top of the UK music industry.
